Florian Franken Figueiredo was FAPESP scholar from 2016 to 2019 and postdoctoral fellow during that time at the State University of Campinas in São Paulo, Brazil and at the University of Reading, UK. He received his doctorate degree (Dr. phil.) from Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) in Munich, Germany, in 2014 with high honours (magna cum laude). He is the author of ‘Praxis und Gründe‘ (‘Practice and Reasons’) that argues for a new approach regarding the understanding of practical reasons and action explanations. Since November 2019 he works as Research Assistant in the FCT project ‘Philosophy for Children and the Dawn of Moral Intuition: Values and Reasons in Rationality and Reasonability’ headed by Dina Mendonça at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. In the project he is working on philosophical issues that regard the teaching of the P4C programme (e.g., questions regarding metaphilosophy, language, argumentation, critical thinking, cognitive abilities, etc.).
