On Monday the 9th of July 2018 the Lisbon Mind and Reasoning Group is hosting a workshop around the themes of enculturation with special reference to the ideas and writings of Richard Menary (2007, 2010, 2015, 2018). This workshop focuses on understanding the specificities of human (and animal) minds from the perspective of a 4E approach to cognition.
Themes include: cognitive practices; cognitive integration; the role of culture: social, material and developmental; ways of conceptualizing the role of technology in cognition, continuities and discontinuities between animal and human culture; the role of 4E cognition in rethinking culture; prediction and cognitive practices; valorising cognitive practices).
